Although it is not in South Kesteven, the Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre has a section – ‘Arnhem in Lincolnshire’ - dedicated to British Airborne Forces. It is a great addition to a sightseeing tour of the Airborne sites in South Kesteven.
It adds to the story of Airborne troops based in Lincolnshire during the Second World War with artefacts of the period.
Thorpe Camp is situated fewer than three miles southeast of Woodhall Spa, on a former Communal Site of the wartime RAF Woodhall Spa.
The Centre has a wealth of displays on military and civilian aspects of the First and Second World Wars, and the Cold War.
