This painting of paratroopers preparing to embark was donated to the project by Doug Farthing MBE. Doug served with The Parachute Regiment and has since turned his hand to inspirational paintings illustrating different conflicts of modern times.
The painting of British paratroopers about to embark on a C-47 Skytrain Dakota of the US IX Troop Carrier Command was painted unseen, drawing on his knowledge of Airborne forces.
